Chemical Guys - HYDRO THREAD - Ceramic Fabric Protectant 473ml is a ceramic textile coating and stain protector designed for extreme durability and hydrophobicity on fabric and textile surfaces.

HydroThread delivers long-lasting ceramic HydroTechnology for convertible tops, interior textiles, carpets, and fabrics. It forms a superhydrophobic SiO2 barrier that repels liquids, causing them to bead and float on the surface without penetrating the underlying fibers. After treatment, fabrics have an extremely low surface tension, allowing beads to roll off directly and making the surface super easy to clean, preventing stains from accidental spills.

HydroThread protects and extends the life of your fabric without altering the look or feel of the treated surface. The shielded NO-STIFF technology ensures that fabrics treated with HydroThread do not harden or become rough after application. Unlike traditional solvent- or oil-based protectants, HydroThread is water-based and odorless for maximum versatility on fabric and cloth seats indoors and outdoors, chairs, carpets, fabric awnings, convertible tops, and more!

The unique SiO2 formulation is small enough to bond to individual fibers, providing excellent hydrophobic properties while resisting abrasion and UV fading for up to 12 months. The thin, fluid formula is extremely easy to apply and penetrates quickly to transform the substrate into a superhydrophobic surface that is durable, flexible, and long-lasting against environmental exposure, fading, and spills.

Application:

1. Thoroughly clean the fabric surface. Ensure the surface is completely dry.
2. Cover non-fabric areas around the surfaces to be treated to avoid overspray.
3. Shake the bottle well, then spray a light coat onto the surface.
4. Hold the bottle at least 12 inches from the surface and lightly spray the fabric while moving the bottle back and forth to ensure even coverage.
5. For best results, work into the fibers with a soft brush.
6. Allow to dry for 20 minutes or until the surface is dry.
7. Apply a second coat if needed for maximum protection.
8. For best results, let dry for at least 24 hours. Depending on climate and pile height, the hydrophobic effect continues to improve after 24 hours of curing. Always test fabric/fiber for colorfastness in an inconspicuous area. In more humid climates, you may need to wait longer between coats to ensure the surface is fully dry.
9. Maintenance: Recoat your surface after heavy spills, heavy use, or simply because it’s so easy and fun!
