Product description
Koch Chemie - 1K-Nano - Nano - Paint Sealant - 250ml
The 1K-Nano network bonds firmly with the paint, forming an extremely smooth, high-gloss, chemical-, UV-, and abrasion-resistant paint sealant based on innovative reactive agents.
Special additives give the paint an intense deep gloss.
The one-step process significantly reduces working time compared to 2-component systems.
The paint is perfectly and permanently protected against adverse environmental influences.
Thanks to a unique easy-to-clean performance, insects, bird droppings, and similar residues can be removed much more easily.
Durability is about 1 year but can be extended up to 3 years with regular manual maintenance using NanoMagicShampoo (hand wash) or NanoMagic Twin Wax (car wash), as well as the recommended annual paint inspection by a professional!
The set includes:
- 250 ml sealant in an aluminum bottle
- 75 ml dosing bottle - dosage for approx. one car
- Sponge
- 5 certificates
- 5 flyers
- 5 stickers "Koch-Chemie 1K-Nano paint sealed"
Areas of application
Fully cured paints on cars, commercial vehicles, motorcycles, etc.
Application recommendation
A. Basic cleaning
Thoroughly pre-clean/wash vehicles alkalinely before polishing and sealing (e.g., with Green Star, no sealant shampoos). For heavy contamination like tree resin, flash rust, tar, etc., pre-treat with clay bar, tar remover, or similar.
B. Paint preparation
1. Heavily to moderately weathered paints: Depending on condition, machine polish with Heavy Cut abrasive polish or fine abrasive paste (see product information Heavy Cut and fine abrasive paste). Completely remove residues with a professional microfiber cloth*.
2. Lightly weathered and paints treated as per point 1 (hologram removal): Machine process with high-gloss anti-hologram polish using an orbital polisher with forced rotation (e.g., Makita BO6040) and orange anti-hologram sponge (see product information High Gloss Anti-Hologram Polish). Completely remove residues with a professional microfiber cloth*.
3. New (hologram- and scratch-free) and paints treated as per point 2: From here, use suitable gloves. Wipe all surfaces with a clean professional microfiber cloth* soaked with silicone & wax remover using light pressure, then immediately wipe again before drying with a second new professional microfiber cloth* using the other hand. This ensures complete removal of surfactants, drying aids, oils contained in polishes, etc., and prevents curing issues with 1K-Nano. Note: For sensitive solid or single-layer paints, dilute silicone & wax remover 1:4 with water to avoid possible hazing. Finally, polish out any streaks with another clean professional microfiber cloth* without pressure. The paint should now have a scratch- and hologram-free surface under sunlight or a paint inspection sodium vapor lamp. After this step, do not touch the paint with bare hands/fingers (risk of curing interference, use gloves). The surface is now perfectly prepared for nano sealing.
C. Paint sealing
1. Observe the recommended ambient temperature of 15-30° C when processing 1K-Nano. Always apply and cure in a closed hall, not outdoors.
2. Shake the aluminum bottle well just before use and transfer to the supplied 75ml plastic bottle. This amount is usually sufficient for a medium-sized vehicle. Insufficient application quantity will reduce sealing quality. Apply sealant only on fully cured (please see notes below) painted surfaces.
2. Ideally apply 1K-Nano machine-assisted (especially recommended for single-layer and dark solid paints!) using an orbital polisher without forced rotation on a slow setting and black finish sponge, or alternatively manually with a soft sponge (999038) without pressure in sections (max. 1 part: hood, door, fender, etc.). Polish in for about 2-3 minutes, continuously applying fresh sealant. During polishing, make several closely overlapping passes to ensure full network formation and avoid clouding (uneven color deepening). After 2-3 minutes, do not apply fresh sealant and continue polishing until a continuous film without dripping forms.
3. Wait another 2-3 minutes and then manually polish the now fully dried film to a high gloss with a clean professional microfiber cloth*.
4. After about 1-2 hours of reaction time, the sealant is cured, creating a chemical-resistant and abrasion-proof long-term seal. Any streaks (product excess) that may appear are caused by the reaction process and can be removed after curing with a professional microfiber cloth* or will be eliminated by the first vehicle wash (earliest after 3 days).
Notes
Caution: Do not apply on fresh repair paints! Repainted surfaces require a curing time of about 6-8 weeks before the sealant can be applied. Original manufacturer paints on new vehicles can be sealed directly. Ensure good ventilation and fresh air supply during application! Due to reactive components, 1K-Nano is stored in a high-density aluminum bottle. Return any remaining product immediately after use to the aluminum bottle, close tightly, and always store upright. Shelf life after opening is about 1 year.
(999241), as lower-quality cloths contain finishes like fabric softeners, silicone derivatives, etc., which prevent proper curing on the paint. Always use several clean cloths to avoid transferring residues and thus unwanted curing issues.
