Koch Chemie - Ceramic Body Cb0.01 - Ceramic Coating for Painted Vehicle Surfaces 30ml

Ceramic Body Cb0.01 is a highly effective ceramic coating specially developed for painted body surfaces. Through a chemical reaction, the ultra-thin protective layer permanently bonds with the paint and offers an outstanding water-repellent effect (lotus effect). The easy-to-clean properties allow for simple and gentle cleaning, even during hand washes. The protective layer remains intact even after using acidic and alkaline cleaners and provides long-term protection against environmental influences such as oxidation, salt, acids, and insects. Depending on usage, the durability lasts up to 36 months. A double coating is possible. Please observe the washing and care instructions.

Areas of Application

Suitable for painted exterior surfaces on:

  • Passenger Cars
  • Commercial Vehicles
  • Motorcycles
  • Motorhomes
  • Caravans
  • Boats

Application Recommendation

  1. Thoroughly pre-clean or wash the vehicle alkalinely before polishing and sealing (e.g., with Green Star diluted 1:10; do not use sealing shampoos). For heavy contamination such as tree resin, flash rust, tar, etc., pre-treat with red or blue detailing clay, tar wash A, or similar.
  2. Preparation of heavily to moderately weathered paint is done machine-wise depending on condition with the coarse polishing compound Heavy Cut or the fine polishing compound Fine Cut. Please refer to the product information of Heavy Cut and Fine Cut for exact processing instructions.
  3. Treatment of lightly weathered paint and removal of holograms after polishing with Heavy Cut or Fine Cut is done machine-wise using the high-gloss polish Micro Cut with an orbital polisher. Please refer to the product information of Micro Cut.
  4. Completely remove polishing residues with Polish and Sealing Towel.
  5. Wipe all surfaces with a clean Polish and Sealing Towel lightly soaked with Silicon & Wax Remover or Panel Preparation Spray using little pressure, then immediately wipe again before drying with a fresh Polish and Sealing Towel using the other hand. This ensures complete removal of surfactants, drying aids, oils contained in polishes, etc., and prevents adhesion problems with Ceramic Body Cb0.01.
Attention: For sensitive solid or single-layer paints, Silicon & Wax Remover should be diluted 1:4 with water, preferably distilled water, to avoid possible hazing.
  6. The paint should now have a scratch- and hologram-free surface under good lighting. After this step, the paint must not be touched with bare hands/fingers (risk of adhesion issues; use gloves). The surface is now perfectly prepared for Ceramic Body Cb0.01.
  7. Moisten the Application Sponge with Ceramic Body Cb0.01 and quickly spread it over the paint, working section by section. Alternatively, the applicator block and Application Towel can be used. After applying two cross passes, a thin, closed liquid film must be visible. Let the product flash off, then polish off with the Coating Towel. Flash-off time depends on temperature and humidity; the higher the temperature/humidity, the shorter the flash-off time. First remove excess, then polish off in circular motions without pressure using the fresh side of the towel. Check the result under suitable lighting for haze-free finish.
Example application in summer in Germany:
    20°C / 68°F
    Humidity 43%
    Flash-off time 6 minutes
Consumption per vehicle size approx. 15-30 ml

Note: Before use, please read the hazard information on the container or outer carton and take appropriate safety measures. Ceramic Body Cb0.01 reacts with humidity. This can cause crystals to form on the bottle rim when opened. If these crystals get onto the Application Towel, they will scratch the surface to be coated. Therefore, crystals must be wiped off with a cloth before dripping the product onto the Application Towel.

For double coatings, allow a drying time of about 30 minutes after the first coating depending on temperature and humidity. The coating is weather-resistant only after at least 24 hours. The first vehicle wash should be done no earlier than nine days after application, as the coating is fully cured only then. At low outdoor temperatures (below 15°C / 59°F), curing time is extended. Nevertheless, bird droppings and insect residues should be removed gently and promptly within the first nine days.

Application of Spray Sealant S0.02 or Hand Wax W0.01 is recommended after 24 hours to protect the ceramic coating that has not yet fully cured. Avoid cleaners with pH values below 3 or above 12. An opened bottle is stable for a maximum of 6 months. Check the bottle for crystallization before use.

To maintain the high-gloss ceramic surface as long as possible, hand washing is recommended. Use Green Star (dilution 1:10) for alkaline cleaning. For neutral washes, use Gentle Snow Foam. To remove mineral deposits, a deep cleaning with Reactivation Shampoo is advisable. Professional aftercare preserves the properties of the ceramic coating and minimizes water spots. Therefore, after washing, Hydro Foam Sealant S0.03 (dilution 1:50 – 1:200) as a wet sealant or Spray Sealant S0.02 as a topper is recommended.
