Koch Chemie - Hand Wax W0.01 is a premium wax sealant with carnauba for a hydrophobic, high-gloss paint surface. Hand Wax W0.01 contains premium carnauba wax that seals and protects the treated surfaces for the long term. The sealing components create a smooth surface with very good hydrophobic properties. The paint is significantly more brilliant and high-gloss. Hand Wax W0.01 only needs to be applied thinly and is therefore very economical.
Areas of application:
Painted surfaces and external plastic components on cars, commercial vehicles, motorcycles, etc.
Recommended use:
Before the polishing and sealing process, thoroughly clean/wash the vehicle with alkaline detergent (e.g. with Green Star, not sealing shampoos). For coarse dirt such as tree resin, rust film, tar, etc., pre-treat with cleaning clay, tar wash or similar.
Paint preparation for heavily to moderately weathered paints. Depending on the condition, machine the paint with Heavy Cut (H9.01) or Fine Cut (F6.01) abrasive polish (see product information Heavy Cut H9.01 and Fine Cut F6.01). Remove all residues with a professional microfiber cloth. Machine lightly weathered paints (hologram removal) for high gloss Micro Cut (M3.02) using an eccentric with forced rotation (e.g. Makita PO5000C) and Micro Cut Pad (see product information Micro Cut M3.02).
Remove all residues completely with a professional microfiber cloth. Wipe all surfaces with a clean professional microfiber cloth soaked in silicone and wax remover, using little pressure, and wipe again with another new professional microfiber cloth with your other hand immediately before drying. This is the only way to completely remove surfactants, drying aids, the oils contained in polishes, etc. and avoid adhesion problems with the hand wax.
Attention: For sensitive solid or single-layer paints, Silicone & Wax Remover should be diluted 1:4 with water to avoid possible matting.
Polish any remaining streaks with another clean professional microfiber cloth without applying pressure. The paint should now have a scratch- and hologram-free surface when viewed under sunlight or a paint inspection lamp.
After this step, the paint must no longer be touched with the palms of your hands/fingers (risk of adhesion problems, wear gloves). The surface is now perfectly prepared for the hand wax.
To apply, gently press the sponge provided into the can and spread the wax evenly over the surface. Allow the wax to dry for 10 - 15 minutes and then polish with a microfiber cloth.
It is best to always work in sections, e.g. the entire hood and then the next component.
Vehicle washing: To preserve the high-gloss wax surface over the long term, you should wash it carefully by hand so that it is not removed too quickly during cleaning. You should use plenty of water, soft washing tools and only soft drying cloths to gently dry the surface. Hard and aggressive washing utensils wear away wax more quickly and scratch the surface. If you use car washes, you should only use textile washes.
